Lady Banks
Purchased two Lady Banks roses.  One is white and one is yellow.  I am thinking about planting the yellow one at the front left corner of the office building.  That side of the building gets full sun and faces south.  It could grow tall and cover part of the south facing brick wall.  The white one will be planted out back of the office next to the deck near my greenhouse shed.  The greenhouse shed is stained a pale green and the deck is a pale red.  It will also be in front of a green 6 foot wooden fence. Could be a coloful setting.  Might liven up a hot steamy summer day.
  • Light: Can gow in full sun.
  • Soil: Best in moist, well-drained area.
  • Water: Does not need a lot of water (except in severe drought and heat).
  • Blooms: Blooms only once per year in Spring.
  • Size and Pruning: Lady Banks blooms on old wood (so do not over-prune the older branches).  Give it a lot of space!  Can grow very large.  The largest rose in the world is a 100-year-old Lady Banks in Tombstone, Arizona.  Covers more than 8,000 square feet!

Akebia Vine

Also purchased an Akebia vine.  May plant it in the greenhoouse near the interior southwest wall. This part of the greenhouse is uncovered and is where I like to mix potting soil and do repotting.  Maybe the Akebia vine will grow tall and wind around the wood slats (that need to be installed soon).
